C is for Crater lakes

Crater lakes in  São Miguel Island, Azores
Lagoa das Sete Cidades - Lagoon of the Seven Cities
Looking from the edge of the crater to the lakes some 500 m (1,500 ft) below, one lake looks blue (reflecting the sky) and is called Lagoa Azul and the other appears green (reflecting the ground) and is named Lagoa Verde. According to a sete cidades legend, the differently coloured lakes were created when a princess and her lover, a young shepherd. The King did not approve the romance of his daughter and they had to part from each other. The tears they shed at their farewell became the two lakes, with the water coloured like their eyes.

Lagoa do Fogo - Lagoon of Fire, a beautiful vulcano lake which is often hidden by clouds.

Lagoa das  Furnas is a lake where the natural hot springs release steam through vents in the ground, and if you choose the right place to dig, Mother Nature will cook your food for you while you wait. Or maybe its better to choose a nice restaurant in Furnas village and enjoy your  Cozido there.

Cozido is ready.
